Hey Y'all,
Just a quick update for ya as we bring our
summer 2010 tour dates to a climax to THANK all y'all for
making this the BEST summer of my life! In the time spanning
early May to the end of August we have literally toured the
country from New York to The Deep South to the Badlands of
South Dakota and Sturgis (Ridin' the ENTIRE way - 3,733
miles!). We had GREAT shows all along the way including jams
with David Allan Coe and The Kentucky Headhunters, somehow
managed to live to see 40 years old and best of all got
married to Jenna Danielle Moore on July 24th (the same day
as my parents' 55th wedding anniversary!). We're goin' out
this week in a blaze of glory with some of the biggest shows
of our life so y'all get with us for the FINAL shows of our
Summer 2010 Last Man Standin' Tour. We saved the BEST for
LAST!!!
*Hank To Thank
...Today, Monday, August 30, 2010 is the 61st
Anniversary of Hank Williams LEGENDARY Cincinnati recording
sessions at Herzog Studios, 811 Race Street, Cincinnati.
These sessions yielded some of Hanks BIGGEST hits including
"I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", "Lovesick Blues", "My
Bucket's Got a Hole In It" and 5 other Hank classics. To
honor this historic event in Cincinnati and Country Music
history, we are teaming up with The Cincinnati USA Music
Heritage Foundation for a tribute concert and fundraising
event called "Hank To Thank". We'll be recording a LIVE
CD/DVD to a sold out crowd in the Historic Herzog Studio
space. To make things even better, we are joined in this
performance and recording by none other than Mr. Jody Payne,
my great friend and legendary guitarist for Willie Nelson,
Merle Haggard, and Emmylou Harris, among others. Jody will
also be honored by the Cincinnati USA Music Heritage
Foundation for his contributions to Cincinnati's rich
musical history (Jody graduated Norwood High school with my
mom, Madgelee Moore, who also recorded at Herzog studios in
the 1950's).The CD/DVD will be released on our label SOL
Records and is being recorded and produced by Brian DeBruler.
We are looking at a December, 2010 release date. I can't
express how excited and honored we are to be part of making
this happen, thank y'all so much for supporting us and comin'
along for the wild ride!
*Jammin' With Jody ...
Since the "Hank To Thank"
recording session is SOLD OUT and not everyone was able to
get tickets, Jody Payne will be staying over an extra night
and joining us for a FREE concert on Fountain Square in
Downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday Aug 31 from 7:00-9:00. Join
us for a righteous jam and meet Jody Payne! The show is the
final Southern Sounds on the Square for 2010 and the weather
is gonna be perfect, DON'T YOU DARE MISS IT!!!
