Dallas Moore can claim a prolific career that encompasses some 25 years of making music, with 17 albums, 600,000 listeners on Spotify, and over 6,000,000 streams to his credit. He also manages to perform 300 concerts a year, many of them sell-out shows.
Moore, who performs at The Shed tonight, Feb. 15, recently released his latest album, No God In Juarez, reaping praise from any number of major music publications in the process. American Songwriter said, “Moore’s adept talents as a songwriter, performer and entertainer gives an intuitive sense of how to get toes tapping, heads bobbing and heart-strings tugging.”
The album debuted at No. 20 on the iTunes Country Albums chart, and was ranked as one of the Top 40 most added albums in the Americana Music Radio Chart. It also reached the top five on the Alternative Country Specialty Chart, and spent four weeks at number one on the Roots Music Report. In addition, it made Saving Country Music’s Essential Albums list for 2023. Even now, he remains one of the most heavily played artists on Sirius/XM’s “Outlaw Country” channel.
“I don’t feel like there’s any pressure or anything like that to outdo myself,” Moore said when asked if he feels like he has too meet a high bar. “Every step along the way is a part of my story and journey. I’m always learning and growing and trying to kick the can a little further down the road.”
Moore also said he’s pleased with the progress he’s made thus far. “It’s been a steady path from the get go,” he said. “I’ve released 17 albums since 1996 and have been able to document each phase and stage of my life along the way. I’ve never had a huge overnight success kind of surge by any means. But I’ve always been moving forward. At times it’s been baby steps and a lot of trial and error while trying to find my own voice, but it’s never gone backwards or even stood still. It’s always been progressing forward and nowadays the little baby steps feel like I’m running along at a pretty good clip. I’m 53 years old and feel like I’m just getting started!”
He said that playing for audiences is the key to his proficiency. “I always say, ya gotta keep the roads hot and roll the wheels to pay the bills,” Moore continued. “Performing live is definitely when I’m the most comfortable. I love traveling to new places and growing our family and friends one show at a time.”
